Building Your Brand

Do you want more followers on Instagram? Are you just starting your social media for your business? I am working on the same exact thing. I’ve spent countless hours researching and refining and my engagement is skyrocketing because of it. For the last couple months I’ve implemented exactly what everyone is saying my engagement level is growing and my followers are exponentially increasing, I believe in the process and I’m here to share:

  1. Be consistent! Show up every day, every week. If you’re not showing up, how will your followers/potential customers know who you are. If they don’t know who you are, you’re not accomplishing your goals at all. I attended San Antonio Start Up Week today and during a PR lecture by Tanya Sammis of Sammis|Ochoa she said “It’s not who you know, it’s who knows you”.IMG_20181023_082908_089.jpg
  2. Come up with a plan. Map out what you plan on posting. If you’re posting all willy nilly you will lose direction and probably, eventually get tired of posting. Plus with a map/plan you can pint in towards your goal!
  3. Don’t sell, tell your story. When you tell your story you are able to relate to others. Your story is different than everyone else’s story so it will help you stand out among the crowd. Your story is every changing and never ending so you should have no problem coming up with content. Plus, since it’s your story, it should be easy to write about.
  4. Provide value. This goes along with not just selling. Providing value can mean many things depending on your industry. When you provide value it gives people a reason to follow you and interact with you. It also shows that you have industry specific knowledge that can help build trust with your followers. you can position yourself as an expert in your industry!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Social media is about being social. Treat it the same way you would treat a networking event or an in person meeting. Be real, be consistent, show up, provide value, BE YOU!
